In the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest at the mouth of Knight Inlet, lies a 30,000 acre protected marine sanctuary called the Broughton Archipelago Marine Park. The region is world famous for wildlife viewing for Grizzly Bears, Orca and Humpback Whales.
What is not well known is that the underwater world of the Archipelago also features some of the most rich, bio-diverse and enticing cold water diving opportunities to be found in the Northern Hemisphere. Fed by a large daily tidal exchange from the Pacific Ocean, the underwater habitat here is a feast of colour and life with creatures both large and small from Steller sea lions, Giant Pacific octopus and Harbour seals to sponges, urchins, anemones, rockfish and king crabs.
Farewell Harbour Lodge is a world-class wildlife viewing lodge which recently garnered a coveted 2020 Trip Advisor Travelers’ Choice Award putting it in the top 10% of resorts worldwide. New for 2021, we have developed a unique and exciting lodge-based dive program to explore the rich, underwater world of the Broughton Archipelago. Our dive program will be offering the same attention to hospitality and adventure that garnered us the Travelers’ Choice Award.
